London Richard Bentley, 1844, hardcover. The author was an English land agent responsible for estates in Ireland; his 30 years of visits led him to blame "Irish agricultural backwardness" on the Irish estate managers [Joel Mokyr]. -- 304 pages, plus 48 pages publisher's ads (dated Jan. 1844). -- Hardcover, original olive green publisher's cloth, with spine lettering quite bright and pages clean. Condition: good-only (cover separated from text block; 1-inch cloth tear at hinge, a few tiny cloth tears, corners lightly worn).
