About This Item
Paris: Ernest Flammarrion, Editeur, 1927. This is an interesting French edition of Lindbergh's autobiography ("Ma vie depuis mon enfance jusqu'au lendemain de ma traversee") that has been bound in fine leather. Marbled paper boards, with brown leather tips and spine; the spine has three raised bands, a red label, and lettering and designs in gilt. There is no publication date, but most probably 1927, done to "cash-in" on the popular frenzy of his flight. The third free endpaper has the title and a colored photo of Lindbergh in front of the "Spirit of St.Louis." Translated into the French by Leon lemonnier; Preface by Myron T. Herrick, the American ambassador to France. Clean text; x, 282 pages, with the Table of Contents in the rear. Illustrated with black-and-white photographs; top-edge is gilt. Mildly bumped, with some rubbing at the margins. . First Thus. Half-Leather. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
