A detailed commentary on the lives and works of modern musicians, including: Strauss, Debussy, Pachmann, Rosenthal, Tetrazzini, Balling, Mlynarski, and many others. Written by James Cuthbert Hadden, a prolific Scottish author, journalist, biographer and organist. Bound in full brown calf with gilt. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. School prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Near Fine
