Moderate tanning to board edges and spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Book has forward lean.

The jacket has major loss to the spine and in patches to the front; there a gift iinscription on the front end paper. The pages are rough cut and the spine cocked. Overall a clean, solid copy. The book is made up of biographies of 19th and early 20th century composers, many accompanied by tipped in portraits. 277 pages, followed by a list of other Foulis publications. First published in 1913, third impression.
