New York: A. S. Barnes and Co, 1933. Hardcover. Very Good/good. [4], 123 p.; 19 cm. Blue cloth with black spine and cover titles. Illustrated dust jacket in mylar cover. Publisher's advertisement for dance books on back flap and back section of dust jacket. Former owner's name on front free endpaper: Monica Reynolds 1935. The first edition of an important work on modern dance by the influential dance critic of The New York Times, John Martin (1893-1985). Scarce. Book is in Very Good Condition: cover is discolored; ends of spine slightly frayed; shadows on endpapers; otherwise, pages are clean and tight. Dust jacket is in Good Condition: in two pieces, lacking section over spine; closed 1-cm. tear from upper edge of front section; closed 1.5-cm. tear from lower edge of front section.
