Ex-Library with usual markings, pockets and stamps; Blue cloth covers decorated in gilt lettering; front cover is rubbed, and has a black and gilt decorative block with title and author's last name in gilt; spine of cover has been blacked out by library and with hand written title and author in white; top front cover edge and corners are rubbed; White endpapers turning; fixed front endpaper has library bookplate; page adjoining half-title page has been torn out; title page has a closed inch-and-a-half tear at bottom edge, a library embossed stamp and a piece of tape adjoining tear on rear side; right book edge is rough-cut and book edges are darkened with age and have soiling from use; 8vo; 889 pages with 6 pages of ads for other Galsworthy books
