München: F. Bruckmann KG, 1938. First edition. Hardcover. 4to. 193, [1]pp. Original gold-stamped green cloth with gold lettering on spine. Published to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Höchst AG. The company was founded in 1863 under the name "Teerfarbenfabrik Meister, Lucius & Co." in Höchst near Frankfurt. In 1880 it became a stock company "Farbwerke vorm. Meister Lucius & Brüning AG. In 1916, Höchst AG was one of the co-founders of IG Farben, a pressure group of Germany's chemicals industry to gain industrial power during and after World War I. Höchst dedicated this anniversary publication to IG Farben. "Dieses Buch widmet das Werk Höchst der I.G. Farben-Industrie A.G. aus Anlaß des 75 jährigen Bestehen seiner Gefolgschaft." Profusely illustrated with reproductions in photogravure by Dr. Paul Wolff. Few photographs by company employee, Willi Simon. Text in German, gothic script. Parts of gold stamping on front cover slightly chipped. Lettering on spine faded. Small closed cloth tear along head of spine on front board. Binding in good-, interior in near fine condition.
