The material comes from over 5,000 issues of Mississippi's 20 daily newspapers - from letters to the editor, news stories, editorials, columns, headlines and advertsiements......No account of this turbulent year would be complete without the graphic evidence of photographs. Although a few have appeared in Mississippi newspapers, most of the photos - often taken under the most hazardous conditions - have never been published.
