The titular Miss Brown is a talented medium who is able to contact the dead, but her faith in her abilities is tested when she is unable to contact her own mother who has recently died. Unable to accept that her mother is gone for good, Miss Brown enters into a series of elaborate fantasies in which her mother is still alive. However, when Miss Brown's friends and family start to question her mental health, she realizes that her fantasies may have been a way of coping with the reality of her mother's death.; 8vo; 344 pages .
