Dust-jacket protected in archival mylar cover.; 190, [2 (blank)] pages + 18 illustrations on 6 plate leaves. 4 maps, on 3 pages (2 full page, 2 half page). Blue boards with gilt lettering on spine. Page dimensions: 215 x 135mm. "The ice-encrusted islands hidden in the tempestuous seas south of Cape Horn were the goal of the 1966-67 voyage here recounted by the author. Though Mischief returned safely home with another 20,000 miles on her log, it was an unhappy and disastrous voyage, with constant tension among the amateur crew, and with the loss overboard of the first mate." - from dust-jacket blurb. .
