The first edition of Lord Sheffield's account of the life and works of this eighteenth-century English historian. 'Illustrated from his Letters, with Occasional Notes and Narrative, by John Lord Sheffield'. Volume two of the original two. Rebound in a half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, rubbed with wear to extremities and slight loss to the spine. Spine label is absent and there is cracking to both joints. Internally, firmly bound and bright. Instances of spotting with the odd handling mark. Private library bookplate to the front pastedown. Good Only
