About This Item
New York: Random House, 1954. First Edition. Signed and inscribed by the author, Gene Fowler, to film director, John Ford. Inscribed: “To my friend John Ford, With the best always, Gene Fowler.” Very good lightly used bright copy with some minor edge wear in a lightly used dust jacket with a long tear to the flap folds, some small chips and tears, and a minor bit of spotting to the spine. A warm and engaging work from screenwriter and journalist Gene Fowler who, along with his enormously comic, talented, and delightful circle of Hollywood friends, including John Barrymore, W.C. Fields, and John Decker, attempt to write a biography of their fellow friend, poet Sadakichi Hartman.
