About This Item

Charlottesville, VA: University Press of Virginia, 1975. Hard Cover. Very Good+ binding. 12mo. [8], 54 pp. First trade edition. Signed and inscribed by Harwell. In original cloth. Spine sunned, otherwise a very crisp copy. Contents clean. Laid in is a printed invitation with envelope to "cocktail and a buffet." The book has been inscribed to the recipient of the invitation on the half title and additionally signed by Harwell on the title page. Uncommon thus. A nice copy of the first trade edition of the Confederate historian and bibliographer's ruminations and historical inquiry into a beverage that is inextricably linked to the Old South.
