First edition, 8vo, pp. 364, 3, [8] leaves of advertisements; lithograph frontispiece (view of St. Paul) and title-page (St. Anthony Falls), folding map not found in all copies ; publisher's dark green cloth (a bit soiled), some minor shelf wear, top and bottom of spine a bit chipped; Edward Chenery Gale's bookplate on front pastedown endpaper, contemporary signature on front free endpaper. A good overview of all aspects of Minnesota as it existed prior to its organization as a territorial government in 1849, and "as it is" in 1853. Not in Howes or Graff.
