Minna von Barnhelm oder das Soldatenglück, or, the Soldiers' Happiness, is a comedy by German author Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1729 - 1781). The drama in 5 acts, was begun in 1763, and set in the same year emphaizing the recent Seven Years' War (1756 - 1763) plays a major part in the play. An entertaining love story set in social discord wrought by war, fortunes and mis-fortunes, honor & pride, and the happy intervention of a very long arm of coincidence.
