New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1945. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Very Good+/Very Good. W. A. Dwiggins. 12mo. Pp. 100. Illustrated with eight leaves of Dwiggins block prints in blue printed recto. Light blue cloth. Titles, illustration and decorations printed in brown on the cover and spine. Top edge dyed brown. Book design by Dwiggins, set in his Linotype Electra. Edges rubbed, light specks to front cover. Edges and endpapers lightly age toned. Jacket edges a tad rubbed, top edge with short closed tears. The renowned type- and book-designer's stage melodrama on the rebellion of humans against tyrannous thinking machines. Published in reduced format under wartime paper restrictions, as explained on the jacket by Knopf. Dust jacket preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
