"All of this universe known to me in the year 1864 was bounded by the wooded hills of a little Wisconsin coulee, and its center was the cottage in which my mother was living alone--my father was in the war." 467 pp. Black cloth covers with red and gilt image of covered wagon on front, and gilt lettering on spine. Cover corners and edges are bumped and rubbed, white scuff marks with fading and creasing to cover faces. Spine is faded from sun exposure, spine ends are bent and fraying. Front hinge broken. Loose spine. Previous owner's name written on front inside cover and front free endpaper. Interior pages are browning along edges. Some light foxing, some page corners are dog-earred. Book in Fair condition.. Reprint. Cloth. Fair. Illus. by Alice Barber Stephens . Size: Approx. 5 " x 7 3/4". Memoir.
