London: John van Voorst. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1875. Third Edition. Hardcover. Some wear to extremities and leather and paper covered boards, a stain to front page edges of volume 1 ; A tight solid books, hinges and boards intact. Marbled paper over 3/4 leather binding with matching marbled endpapers. Five raised bands on spine with red title box and gilt titles on each book. No dust jacket as issued. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Volume 1 is 875 pages of text and the slender volume 2 is unpaginated but contains 48 plates (some coloured, some B&W) with full page descriptions on facing page, printing on one side only of each page. .
