Blue cloth hardcover, titles decoratively stamped in silver on spine and front cover; 255pp. A fresh, Very Good or better copy, free of markings or excessive wear, lacking the dustwrapper. Second volume of a trilogy including Hordubal (1934) and An Ordinary Life (1936).

This is the second volume in his "Noetic Trilogy" (the others are "Hordubal" and "An Ordinary Life"). First published in Prague in 1934; this is a Good only copy of the First American Edition, translated from the origial Czech by M. & R. Weatherall. Blue cloth binding with titling in silver. Clean text; 256 pages. Contemporary (1942) signature on the FFEP. Unfortunately, a rather disreputable copy. Bumped, and the front gutter has split to expose the webbing; the spine has darkened, is rubbed at the bottom, with a chip to the top. Margins are also darkened, and there is a small ding to the front cover. A reading copy.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Blue cloth binding with titling in silver on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 256 pages; red topstain. Textblock is very bright and fresh. Spine has darkened to a gray colour but the titling remains bright. Covers have several light stains. Better than a Reading Copy, but not for the advanced collector.. First American Edition..
