Near fine copy in original red wrappers with some nicks to edge of p.185 slight edgewear to top and bottom corners of spine-of Quarterly financed by American expatriate writer Henry Church and his wife, Barbara. The Journal was edited until the outbreak of World War II by an Editorial Committee which consisted of Henry Church, Jean Paulhan of the Nouvelle Revue Française, French writer-poet Henri Michaux, Italian poet Giuseppe Ungaretti and German philosopher Bernard Groethuysen. Among the contributions to this uncut copy #1192 of a limited multi-lingual edition of 1800-which comes from the collection of Barbara Church-are a
