12 page (2 gatherings) side-stabbed pamphlet with additional folded leaf (formerly tied with pamphlet); untrimmed at top, fore & tail edges; unopened at top edge; paginated [4], 5 - 12. Clean with moderate foxing throughout. Cf. Greely p. 284; OCLC #54193231; Harvard/Hollis #004256636 (which cites Shaw & Shoemaker #1513); Yale/Orbis # 031 1801 2/27e. 23 cm X 14 ccm; folded leaf is 45 cm X 53 cm. This is in response to House of Rep request for "an account of the depredations committed on the commerce of the United States by vessels of Great Britain". From President John Adams, it is a report from Sec of State John Marshall with supporting letters from US consuls and others. The folded leaf is in very good condition, clean and supple. It is a chart entitled "Abstract of the cases of capture of American Vessels by British cruizers . since first of January 1800" and gives detailed information including: vessel type, name, home port, owner, voyage, burden, cargo; date of capture; capturing vessel; port carried into; admiralty court sentence; and, observations (comments).
