During this 20-year timespan the battle for separate schooling led to a significant emigration of Canadian Mennonites to Latin America, while another struggle was waged with our immigration authorities to allow the entry of Russian Mennonites into Canada. The book also cover the impact of the Depression on the Mennonites and their efforts to preserve their cultural and racial identity. The book ends with the response of the Mennonites to the outbreak of the Second World War.
