Personal account of the Communist insurrection in Malaya and Templer's successes in stemming the tide. Published in the same year as the first edition. UNCOMMON.

Published halfway through the war now known as the Malayan Emergency (1948 - 1960), a guerrilla war fought in British Malaya between communist pro-independence fighters of the Malayan National Liberation Army (MNLA) and the military forces of the Federation of Malaya, British Empire and Commonwealth. An on the ground report: the author was then a journalist with the Straits Times and was very concerned about the rise of the communists in South-East Asia.
