Cassell, 1923. First edition, first printing. 8vo. 304pp. Green boards. First Issue Currey "A" binding with gilt lettered "Cassell" at foot of spine & printer's code of "F.200.123" on p.304. Buff dustwrapper with purple lettering. A near fine copy with clean boards.Internally clean with neat old ink name & date [1923] & offsetting to front endpaper. Endpapers original and unsplit. Some light occasional spotting to leading textblock edge. No spotting within text and appears unread. The very good+ dustwrapper is complete. Edgewear to extremities with a few short closed tears & some toning to spine. Original price of 7/6net on spine. An attractive copy of the first issue. Wells (80). Wells Society 85. Currey p.521. Referred to by Wells as a "scientific fantasy" - featuring a utopia located in a parallel universe.
