Methuen and Co, 1908. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1908. First Edition. 331 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white photographic plates. Severe cracking to hinges causing boards to be slightly loose. Mild cracking to gutters, however binding remains firm. Deckled bottom edge of text block, with mild tearing and creasing. Pages are moderately tanned with noticeable foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Minor water staining to top text block edge. Text is unaffected. Small pencil annotations to pages on occasion. Faint black marks to some pages. Text is legible. Boards have heavy edge-wear with substantial bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Splits to joints causing cloth to be frayed. Visible tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Black markings with mild water staining overall. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning.
