London: Alexander Maclehose and Co, 1931-1932. New Revised Edition . Very Good. 5.25 x 7.5 inches (13 x 19 cm). Originally published in seven series between 1897 and 1922. The first three series were later revised and expanded by Maxwell and issued in this three volume New Edition. Lacking jackets. Green cloth bindings with very slight wear to spines. Top page edges gilt with a few marks. Tanning to front endpapers, otherwise all three volumes are in very clean condition throughout. From the private library of Arthur T. Spoor, owner of the Hydro Treatment Centre, Bristol. With his name stamp to front pastedown endpaper of each volume. There is also an unidentified signature pasted to front endpaper of volume I. Included with the books is a hand-written letter from the publisher thanking Spoor for his suggestion of adding an index to the third volume. The letter is dated 4th May 1932, and the third volume does include the suggested index. Overall condition is Very Good.
