Richmond: Old Dominion Press, 1925. Hard Cover. Good+ binding. Octavo. [14], 445; [8], 431 pp., frontis, ports. First edition, inscribed by Gordon on the title page of both volumes. As issued, in burgundy cloth with printed paper title labels on the spine; all portraits are present but lacking one plates, though the printed tissue guard remains. Moderately worn with some darkening to the spines and spine labels; previous owner bookplate of E. Donald Cameron on both front pastedowns--one bookplate is remarkably crooked; foxing to the textblock edges and to the plates and adjacent pages; otherwise, fairly clean. Uncommon signed. "Contains the sometimes revealing recollections of an adjutant to, and close friend of, Col. W. J. Pegram" CWB I, 95.
