The authors have compiled information from a variety of sources to present this history of the Mackinac Straits area of Michigan. Their book covers people, shipping, logging, pioneers, ferries, the fort, the parks, business, churches, education, etc. Also of interest are profiles of prominent and interesting residents of bygone days. This is the second printing of the original bicenntial book; it contains corrections to the first edition, but no new information. Bound in the publisher's original cream wrappers with brown printing and decoration. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. There are no creases, chips or tears to the covers.; B&W Illustrations & photos; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 303 pages .
