This splendid edition of Tennyson's "In Memoriam" contains numerous b/w drawings by English-born American illustrator Harry Fenn.
"In Memoriam" was completed in 1849. It is a requiem for the poet's beloved Cambridge friend Arthur Henry Hallam, who died suddenly of cerebral haemorrhage in Vienna, in 1833.
Binding age-toned and rubbed along edges. Abrasion to cloth at head of spine. Binding in overall fair, interior in very good condition. * Harry Fenn (1837-1911) was an English-born American illustrator, landscape painter, etcher, and wood engraver. From 1870 to around 1895 he was the most prominent landscape illustrator in the United States.
