London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, and Green, 1826. First Edition First Printing . Leather Bound. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavos. xi, 503; viii, 619 pages. Signed bindings by Lauriat. Hardcovers bound in 3/4 calf and tan marbled paper-covered boards. Top edges gilt. Spines have tooling in gilt and dual labels in burgundy and blue. Spines are a bit sunned. The bindings show light rubbing with some contact marks on the spines. Hinges secure. Tan marbled endpapers. SIGNED in type on the verso of the front flyleaf, "Charles E. Lauriat Co., Boston." Portrait frontis in Volume One; otherwise not an illustrated work. The text is mostly clean with just sporadic foxing, heavier at the front and rear of each volume. Overall a very attractive set.
