About This Item
MacDonald & Co, 1946 MacDonald & Co, 1946 An account of the making of the film, "Caesar and Cleopatra" starring Vivian Leigh, Claude Rains, and Stewart Grainger with extensive commentary by both Shaw and Pascal. With 33 color gravure illustrations and 31 B&W plates by photographer Wilfred Newton. Text is clean, tight and unmarked. The red cloth boards with pastedown of Michelangelo's Sybil on the front are bumped at corners, slightly bowed and appear to have been bent in the past. There is also a stamp on the back of the frontpiece stating, "Received Sept 27 1946 Copyright Office." I belive that MacDonald & Co. used this English edition copy to establish the copyright in the United States. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Newton, Wilfred.. First Edition.. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Newton, Wilfred.
