London: Edward Moxon, 1855. First edition. Hardcover. vg- to vg+. 8mo. 154pp. + 8 pages of publisher's ads at the front. Original green cloth boards with blind stamped design on covers with gilt lettering on the spine. Publishers ads dated "March 1856". The publication is a first edition of this acclaimed collection of poems by Tennyson, including the first appearance of "Charge of the Light Brigade", and was the first collection printed after becoming the poet laureate in 1850. Binding with some sunning and smudging. Light bumping and rubbing to corners, edges and spine. Minor sporadic spotting, along the top edge of the book block and a few pages. Book block tight. Binding in very good-, interior in overall very good+ condition.
