London: Methuen & co, 1897 First edition. Hardcover book . Red cloth with gilt titles to spine. 500pp. With nearly 100 illustrations from b&w photos, sketches and watercolours done by the author on the spot; including tissue-guarded frontispiece. Interesting ownership inscription on front free endpaper, of the Government Veterinary Surgeon at Kimberley South Africa in 1897. A Good only copy. The contents are very good, well-bound, with generally clean pages which have some browning to lower margins near edges (which are browned). Endpapers very browned. Covers have heavy fading to front cover though spine and back better with bright gilt; cloth splits to spine edge. Pictures available.
