Marbled endpapers. Initials and date inked on second front flyleaf. Frontis. image of Kellogg with tissue overlay. xx, 604pp. 25 plates, plus in the Preface, a Dissected Plate, and an anatomy plate with fold-outs lettered to the Index on facing page. In a back pocket is a stapled pamphlet titled Venereal Diseases, 24pp., plus Plates A through E. John Harvey Kellogg (1852-1943) was an American medical doctor, nutritionist, inventor, health activist, eugenicist, and businessman. He was the director of the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan. The sanitarium was founded by members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - 8" - 9" Tall.
