Volumes I and II bound together keeping title pages. Binding remains firm. Pages are lightly tanned throughout. Frontispiece is bright and clear, with some light tanning and foxing to edges. Minor dog-eared corners. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light sunning to spine with crushing to ends causing fraying to cloth. Gilt lettering is darkened.

In good black cloth boards, blind stamped decorative ruled edges and gilt titles to front. The covers are a little loose from damage to hinge, fairly clean, roll to spine, and spine ends bumped.Clean green end papers, except for name on front free end paper. Top edge tinted green/grey; other edges a little grubby. The text block is firm, square and unmarked - very good.
