About This Item

New York, New York, U.S.A.: Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., 1976. First Edition Later Printing 5th or later Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Coryn, Sidonie; Child, Paul. Vol II of the bible of French cooking for the American chef. After it became clear the whole of "la cuisine francaise" was not going to fit into a single volume, this second volume was conceived & issued 9 years after the first one came out in 1961. Foreword by the authors is followed by 555 pages of well-illustrated text, plus extensive Appendices & an Index. Orig. published in 1970, this is the 20th printing of that FIRST EDITION from 1976, retaining the classic fleur-de-lis cover design. Condition is Near Fine: Nicest copy we have handled! It is exceptionally clean & bright, binding is straight & strong, pages creamy white & completely unmarked, hinges secure. Mild corner bumping is only flaw. The unclipped DJ is equally Near Fine: bright & colorful with just a hint of edgewear; beautifully protected in new clear mylar cover for years of culinary pleasure or that perfect gift! Mild fading to blue top stain & slight pushing to heel of spine. We are also offering an equally nice copy of Vol. I; please see our listing #2912 & take 20% off if purchased together! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. SORRY: book is too large for expedited domestic or any international shipping without preapproval of extra postage (at least double) per USPS rates.
