Limited First Edition [Jonathan Cape, London, 1932]; vellum spine with gold titling over yellow boards, top edge gilt, rough-cut block, marbled endpapers, corners slightly bumped, discreetly embossed ownership stamp; a fine copy. #81 of only 172 copies signed by the author. Radclyffe Hall was a renegade lesbian best known for The Well Of Loneliness [1928], which openly considered lesbian themes, was banned in the UK & generally caused quite an uproar.
