London:Cassell and Company, Ltd. 1889. 1st edition. viii+332pp+20pp ads. Hardcover. Red boards, decorated in black, with title in gilt on spine are soiled and shelfworn, with spine strip darkened and gilt/text dulled. Internally, floral end pages slightly age toned, with a few bookseller notations, but free of previous owners marks or signatures. Paper throughout is slightly age toned but clean. The binding is tight, but cocked, with hinges still intact. Overall, a good solid copy.
