Reynal & Hitchcock, New York, 1935. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Mary Shepard. List of illustrations. Illustrated end pages, frontispiece and the black-and-white drawings within the text have all been created by Mary Shepard (who also incidentally drew the illustration for the boards). Green coloured cloth covered boards with blue coloured embossed illustration and titles the front panel, back strip and blue coloured illustration to the rear board. Mary Poppins is pulled back into the Banks family via a kite, and again the children have adventures meeting The Dirty Rascal, King of the Castle and Mr Turvy and his bride Miss Topsy etc. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with bumping to the book corners and rubbing where is also present. Discolouration to the top book edges with sunning of the back strip stop the cloth of the board has become a little discoloured. Tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. The end pages are slightly sunned at the edges. Previous owners name along the right-hand edge of the front paste-down – sideways. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Synopsis

Pulled down from the clouds at the end of a kite string, Mary Poppins is back. In Mary’s care, the Banks children meet the King of the Castle and the Dirty Rascal, visit the upside-down world of Mr. Turvy and his bride, Miss Topsy, and spend a breathless afternoon above the park, dangling from a clutch of balloons.
