Acknowledgements, introduction by author and index. Illustrated end pages, showing a floral wallpaper design. The text is illustrated with copious colour photographs taken by Tina Freeman. Pink coloured cloth covered boards with green coloured titles to the back strip. Colour photographic dustwrapper, again by Tina Freeman, with white, black and pale green coloured titles to the front panel and black and pale green coloured titles to the back strip. Colour photograph of Mary Emmerling to the rear fold over panel. The author took a journey through the southern states of America and records the renowned hospitality, charm and decorating style of these places. In this book the interior designer, Mary Emmerling, using her own cottages as a template, looks at how to decorate a retreat cottage. There is a library stamp to the title page – the only indication that this was once a library book. Minor rubbing of the book edges and bumping of the book corners.
