London: Collins, 1956. First Edition. Hammond Innes’s personal copy, signed by him on his bookplate affixed to the dedication page. Very good copy with a touch of use and a very faint scattering of spots to the cloth in a near fine dust jacket with some minor fading to the spine, a hint of darkening to the rear panel, and a tiny tear to the top edge of the front panel. The author’s most famous work and the basis of the acclaimed film, The Wreck of the Mary Deare, screenplay by Eric Ambler, directed by Michael Anderson, and starring Gary Cooper, Charlton Heston, Michael Redgrave, Richard Harris, Virginia McKenna, Emlyn Williams, and Alexander Knox.
