About This Item

Paris: Eugène Renduel, 1831. Fine. [ENGLISH DESCRIPTION ON DEMAND]

Synopsis

This is a play written with great controversy at the times of Victor Hugo, its author. The play was forced to become idle due to the possibility of bringing shame to the monarchy of Lois the XIII and the future heirs to the monarchy. Although Hugo himself had denied this, the at time king Charles X had decided in favor of the ban, this in turn only inspired Hugo to bring forth another wonderful, nay, powerful drama, Hernani! Come with me and lets together discover the essence Victor Hugo embedded upon his contributions to the forever literary world!
