He served in the Second Battalion of the First Marine Regiment from April of 1944 until February of 1946 as Combat Intellig ence scout, rifleman, plans and operations sergeant, and rifle squad leader. He served through two major campaigns, Peleliu and Okinawa, and was under fire in a few other patrol actions. Wounded twic e , cited for bravery once, he says that two times he was too frightened to do his assigned job. Here is the gripping, personal account of a Marine in combat during World War II. 246 pages. Binding i s V ery Good. A few light creases on the front cover and a 3" crease on rear cover.
