Notably, Willat developed the first cold permanent wave equipment, in its time a revolutionary advancement in hair care. Inscribed and signed by Willat on half title page thus: "With best wishes | Sincerely, | A. F. Millat." Signature unconditionally guaranteed to pass any COA examination. In 1952 Millat famously boasted he would pay $1,000 to any person whose hair he couldn't curl. He was never proven wrong. Also signed on back panel by the notorious Herbert M.
