Vol. I with trivial foxing at the outer edges of the text block, not into the pages themselves. Else impressively clean interiors, with no stampings or underlining observed. The heavy-duty slipcases are bound in fabrics matching the book colors. Both slipcases are intact but somewhat faded and rubbed. A Very Good Plus set of volumes in Very Good slipcases. Rare in any condition, with Vol. II being exceptionally hard to find. Weight of 17 lbs. This two-volume book is a catalogue raisonné of the works of Marie Laurencin [1883 - 1956]. She was a French painter and printmaker. She became an important figure in the Parisian avant-garde as a member of the Cubists associated with the Section d'Or. Her work lies outside the bounds of Cubist norms in her pursuit of a specifically feminine aesthetic by her use of pastel colors and curvilinear forms. She became romantically involved with the poet Guillaume Apollinaire, and has often been identified as his muse.

About Marc Sena Carrel
I deal principally in rare and fine books. I also sell antique prints, including Japanese ukiyo-e. I have eclectic and wide-ranging interests and my collection generally emphasizes art titles. Areas of book specialization include: Art, Architecture, Design, Antiques, Antiquities, Small Press/Fine Press. As for prints, I am chiefly interested in ukiyo-e, ornithologicals, iconography and churches. I have a small but choice selection of books and prints available for the discriminating collector/buyer. My goal is to establish and maintain a stock in trade of a few thousand fine books and a few hundred noteworthy prints.
