Calmann-Levy, 1925. First Edition. Leather Binding. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" Tall (small). Slight wear to head and foot of spine (nicking); slight bumping to corners; slight rubbing and browning to covers (leather over boards; chiefly at edges); slight internal uniform browning (chiefly to edges). [6], 313, [2] pages. Text in French. Later issue of the 4-part South Seas adventure, originally published in 1880 (see BMC, volume 15, page 1163, column 825; also published under the title (and subtitle) Raharu). Includes the author's dedicatory letter to Sarah Bernhardt (dated June of 1878). Date ascertained from colophon information (not dated otherwise in book). Bound in half brown calf over darker brown marbled boards, gilt-stamped and decorated spine with raised bands, dark brown marbled endpapers, t.e.g., remaining edges untrimmed, red-brown silk bookmarker. Nice and internally tight fine-bound copy.
