The first edition of this work. A very scarce collection of poems by Alfred Hayes, son of E. J. Hayes Town Clerk of Birmingham. Titles included are 'Dies Now,' 'Spring Song,' 'A Christmas Carol' and more.Gift inscription from a L. & G. Hayes dated 1891. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, minor bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, minor mark to front board. Gift inscription to half title page dated 1891. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to endpapers, otherwise pages bright and clean. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
