Blue paper-covered boards with flaps in original matching dust jacket, both with white lettering on cover. Tipped in color frontispiece. Six chapters describe Chagall's life, including An Approach to Chagall, Origins - 1887-1909, The Shock of Paris - 1910-1914, The Return to the Native Land, Paris and Love - 1923-1930, and finally Meditations, Dreams and Nightmares. Profusely illustrated with 64 full page reproductions in collotype of some of Chagall's most significant paintings, 24 b&w in-text reproductions of drawings, as well as two tipped-in color plates (including frontispiece). 1/4" x 1/2" label with typed letters 'MARC CHAGALL' pasted to spine of dj. Slight chipping to head and tail of spine, Minor age wear on binding. Chipping to head of spine and corners of dj. Minor creasing and few closed tears on dj. Dj and binding in good, interior in very good condition. Scarce in dj.
