About This Item
John Lane The Bodley Head. 1924 First edition. (10140) Hardback. 262 pages. With Appendix of Early Documents and Nine b.w. photographs. Good in slightly grubby red cloth with gilt motif on front board and gilt lettering to dulled spine. Top edge of textblock coloured red. Front and bottom edges of pages uncut and internally a few pages are still joined together (uncut). Slight foxing to a few pages at front. External split in red cloth spine at rear due to poor quality cloth used and age, exposing the skim - internally the joint has been repaired with matching paper to rear pastedown and flyleaf making the rear joint now sound and tight. 'Office Copy Published Sept 12/24' written in ink on front pastedown. No other markings or inscriptions. Still a tight sound clean copy.
