About This Item
St Martins Pr, 1994. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Very Good. Book is inscribed by Wilma Mankiller on half-title page and is clean with a square, tight binding and bright, white pages. Book has minor wear on the edges that is difficult to see in the scans, that includes a lower bottom corner that is missing. Chief of the Cherokee Nation, tells not only her personal story, but honors and recounts the complex history of the Cherokees. Her book becomes the quest to reclaim and preserve the great Native American values that form the foundation of our nation. Mankiller details the dawning of the Native American civil rights struggle and how the genesis of that movement mirrored her own search for meaning and balance as a woman of two cultures and as the head of state for a sovereign nation of native people. The book you see in the images is the actual book we have for sale. Why pay more? When you buy this book from us, you are helping to support a small brick and mortar family owned store.
